Fugly Sharknose

the main difference to me, once i finally got one.....
had always wanted one, since my mid 20s... so once i actually got it..
it cuts through the wind.. you dont feel the bat wing .. my ultra you could feel the wind being pushed around, .. just the general feed back of wind gusts and such...
on the shark, you get none of that, just the feel of the tire on the road.. you cut thrrough the wind, not push it..

next i am 5'9" on a decent boot wearing day..
you dont feel cramped... the shield and fairing arent right there up in your face...

thats my seat of the pants feelings..

other than that it is the exact same as my ultra... ride, comfort, etc...

ride one and u wont ask what the differance u will feel the differance at high speeds. love mine and wont go back to a batwing. but thats just me.

I put 80,000 on my 04 flhtc and do not see why everyone thinks the RGU is such a great bike.

but i bought one

I am a retired motor so spent the last several years riding Roadkings 10 hours a day and Iput 80,000 miles on my personal 04 EG. I for the life of me can not tell why people think the RG's handle better. To me they handle exactly the same which I like. I have had my flhp's on the race track and I have yet to notice one iota. What I do like about the RG is that the motor is so smooth and mechanically quiet. It is a little under powered compared to my 04 EG but I think that can be fixed. Hopefully it will be as trouble free as my old bike which did not give me a single issue in 80,000 miles.

Well, back when I was stationed in southern CA and tooling around tracks, drag strips, and Bonneville anyway, I experienced my first frame-mounted fairings. The feeling "touched my soul", so to speak, so I added one to my old streeter, a '69 750cc Norton Commando (she was also the NHRA C-Stock record holder for a while, pre-fairing).

I've had H-bar fairings too and, as I'm sure you know better than me, they have a bit of "personality" themselves. That said, my '07 Road King still had a little bit of the old HD "hinge in the middle" wander - already totally controllable in '07 but still there.

Either way, I frankly believe that a scoot with a windshield only is an entirely different deal when compared to any fairing, pure street or otherwise. I'm also positive my '07 RK handled damn well. I think that any lingering (modest) wander in corners with my '07 had nothing to do with a (relatively speaking) narrow windshield.

However, IMHO, the new frame is what makes the most difference to me. Oh well... no matter what makes us feel (or not feel) some sort of change, these days I'm telling my buds that I just got a new 800 pound Norton.

I have a 06 EG batwing. I have a 10 Road Glide. I dont think I am a "Fuglyholic"..... I can stop riding my RG anytime. I just cant admit that I am one yet...." I can stop, I can STOP anytime I tell ya. It not GOT ME!!! And I'm here to tell ya I will NEVER Believe
"Once a Fuglyholic, Always a Fuglyholic" .... Tell me it aint so..... Is there a FA and does anybody have the phone number?......... hdman
