Fuel economy question about dodge Dakota?

that might help it but you also need to have the free play checked in the timing chain and gears in it, if it gets enough free play it will allow the timing to go off the charts enough so that the truck wont run right and setting it with light wont hep it if its got free play in gears,timing plays a big role in gas mileage these days on any vehicle,good luck.
 
I just sold my 88 v6 Dakota because of horrible mileage the odometer was broken so I could never accuratley check it 10 mpg??? nasty. Yeah check the timing, mabey advance it a little. And drop some redline fuel system cleaner in the next tank (whole bottle). May help a little but dont expect too much. I'd sell that gas sucker, its too gutless to justify that expence. Buy an import. I bought a 4 cyl 89 izuzu 4x4 for $1000 that I love .......22 mpg and it has more power than the v6 Dakota ever did.
