I ride a 07 S50. Normally I run 87 octane in it and use 93 octane in the ninja 250 I have (my go to work bike). I accidently put 93 octane in it last Sunday to go cruising. After runnig aprox 145 miles I refueled the little beast and found that I got 63 miles to the gallon! WOW. Was this the wrong thing to do or is my bike too lean?:-?

My VS800 mileage varies from 45 to 65 depending on the type of riding. I doubt the super unleaded increased your mileage at all, unless the bike is not running correctly on regular, in which case it is time for a tune up.

I have 2005 miles on it. I ran 45 to 70 depending if it was highway or interstate. I did not change driving habits. I normally get 50-53 miles to a tank. AND NO I DID NOT DRIVE LIKE GRAMPA. It was about half highway and half interstate. Clint & Adam - both of you have seen me drive. I drive like you do, like great great great gramdpa!

That's a joke from right before we met up with you we stopped at some local gas station to fill up and Clint i think was jealous that I was getting almost 10 mpg higher than he was.

At $4 per gallon I'd almost ride a girl bike, too.
