so, if a terrorist group came together in Canada, and started lobbing missles at the US, you don't think we should go in there and take them out if the Govt. of Canada couldn't handle it themselves?

Granted, this is theoretical, but you get the idea.
 
From what I understand the whole problem with the resolution is that it doesn't mandate Israel leave immediately from occupied Lebanon. That is why the Arabs and the French disagree with it.

Paper bullets. The UN and league of nations have been doing it for decades. Didn't work for Japan, didn't work for Germany, isn't going to work with the middle east.
 
A retired Colonel on the news said it best. The UN is worthless when it comes to conflicts. They are good at aiding countries in famine and what not but when it comes to actually using force and keeping the peace they are worthless.
 
An international force would take months to amass. Even when deployed they wouldnt do shit to destroy the rockets. Hizballah would either attack them as well or go into hiding until the force left. Israel pulling out now would allow Hizballah to resupply and regroup and continue rocket attacks. Stupidist anit jew idea ever.
 
No 'shit will be handled' without assistance from the arab world. They are the only ones with leverage on the Syrian/Iran issue, which is at the heart of this current conflict (not in the general sense).
 
no international force will be able to ensure hezbollah is disarmed, then another war will take place to do what israel is doing now.
