It's New Year's Eve and since I thought I would be spending it with my kids, which is now not the case, I didn't buy any alcohol because I just really don't like to drink in a celebratory way infront of them. So, now I don't have my kids, but I don't like bars so I thought hey, I'll get a bottle of wine and ring in the new year with the hubby... but he reminded me today is Sunday. Around here, I suppose it would be sinful to buy alcohol on Sunday because we know Jesus would not like us to partake in the grape or anything... you know the guy who turned water into the stuff for a wedding...

Why oh WHY is this still a law?!??!

Hey, and Christians aren't supposed to eat meat on fridays. I'm going to hell.

Seriously. I dont' think God or Jesus made any such rule. That's people talking. Peopel don't do well with simple guidance, so they made rules for their religions. People do better under limitations and laws.

I say go have a sip of wine. I mean after all, like you said, Jesus made it himself. why not enjoy his creation?

Honey, I have one word for you: U-Haul. Time to move to a more liberal, conscientous(sp?) and sinful state. Like Wisconsin. Booze, drugs ... it's all here. Available every lovin' day of the week. Hell, during the recent elections, we even legalized what is now known as "Sodomy Saturday." :D

-Egh-christian based religions suck.

-You can buy liquor and wine around here on sundays but not many people do it.

-I'm not christian so this doesn't apply to me.

-And even if I was I went to a chruch thing a little while ago with a friend and they said becuase I don't believe in what they believe in I'm going to hell. So even if I didn't buy liquor on sun. I'd still be screwed anyways according to the church people. XD

Turetz, due to things like mortgages, kids, family, schools, budget, and lack broadened skills/work experience I can't move - believe me, if there was ANY way I would and not because of the liquor laws. ;)

I rarely drink actually, that is why I don't keep it stocked. :happysad:

What part of Norfolk do you live in? Because when I lived down on 40th street every convenice(sp?) store sold all types of liquor on Sunday, and they are some of the most religous people alive.

Holy shit my bad I just realized you said you could buy liquor whenever in Norforlk. I'm sorry
