You have two kinds of Italians on Long Island. Italians, and "Gueedos."
I am 1/4 Sicilian, for those of you who don't know, that means I'm from the island of Sicily.
After I moved to Long Island, the older I got, the more "Gueedos" I saw.
You know what? I hate having a bunch of jocks/cavemen/retards who make hooting sounds, openly hate everyone who isn't Italian (Black people are a favorite), and are totally homophobic, only because their friends are.
I hate these fuckers for many reasons:
1. They are openly racist and culturally arrogant. I've been "hated" for being six different nationalities.
2. They are generally selfish assholes.
3. They say "Italian Pride" all the time, dress like Eminem and act white. They are a walking cultural contradiction.
4. Homophobia is not to be tolerated. Ever. Being gay is no different than being born with one arm - you can't help it. I'm not gay, but I'm named after my great uncle, who was, and died of AIDS. He was exactly like me and died when he was two months old.
So when they rant about gay people they really set me to a ten on the anger scale, pushing me to a three is already hard enough. I'm regarded as NEVER being angry.
I respect my uncle along with all of my other idols, including John Romero and Bill Clinton. When he was diagnosed, he gave away everything to help others, he had no money left when he died...
Almost all of my friends are full blooded or half Italian, but they don't act like this. Roughly 30-50% of Italian teenagers on Long Island do, this varies by location.
