That bill includes the extension of a much needed COBRA subsidy (I know this first hand as I help administer benefits for companies with laid off employees) and tax breaks. It's a mixed bag, but honestly I'd rather see more money added to the deficit than wasted in defense measures overseas, as it will continue to be. A lot of the provisions in the bill are meant to appease certain segments of the population, like the three year delay in cuts to payments to doctors who accept Medicare. Seniors are already livid and scared into thinking their Medicare is going to be taken away from them so you have to not make them mad. The unemployed are the unemployed and will vote later based on how they are treated now.
