Fuck... my knee

I managed to fuck up my right knee this morning. I was going down the stairs and my left knee popped, which caused me to lose stability and bend my right knee is some weird way. I still can't believe I missed the rail like a fucking lummox. Now it hurts right under my kneecap and I can't put pressure on it. There goes my Mardi Gras plans.

A little back story... I tore cartilage in my left knee playing Football in high school, but never had surgery. They said I could chance a 6 month recovery or have surgery and be out for at least a year, so my parents and I decided on the shorter recovery. In hindsight, this probably wasn't he best ideas as I now have a piece of cartilage that floats around in my knee and causes it to pop sometimes if it gets under the kneecap. It's generally not painful, but it causes me to stumble sometimes - like this morning.

I have it iced down right now and I'm sucking down scotch and some amazing weed to help with the paint, but I'm (irrationally) trying to hold off from going get x-rays. I'm hoping it's just hyper-extended, but the pain and location feel all too familiar.

Fuck

That sucks, Jung. If it doesn't get any better in the next few days, try to get that taken care of.

I can't sit cross-legged anymore because of my injury from the army. I'm thinking I had a hairline fracture that didn't heal just right and they never found it. It sucks.

Hope you get to feeling better.

That's exactly what a super-advanced, AI robot would say if he was trying to throw us off the fact that he was a super-advanced, AI robot.

Sorry about your knee, Jung. Hope you feel better soon.

I'd have to be smokin' weed too to be chugging paint.

:rotflmao:

Just pokin' fun man. Hope you're back to 100% soon. I know about knee injuries man... sucks balls.

I always cringe when I hear about knee injuries. They always look/sound particularly painful. Here's to a speedy recovery.

And try not to paint too much :D

I can kind of understand, I fucked up my foot (think it got fractured) and just waited until it healed itself and since then I can feel the weakness in it. It's probably fucked for life.

Thanks for the replies.

I just got back from the hospital about an hour ago, and as far as they could tell, everything is fine. I still need to get an MRI to rule out torn tendons and such, but the Dr. said it was probably just sprained.

damn Jung, that sucks ass. I've had similar issues with my knees since high school myself. Actually broke the end of my left femur off because of it. I've found the best thing is ice if it's swollen, then heat to help releive the pain and help it heal. Moist heat. Wrap a slightly damp towel around a hot water bottle. If x-rays came back clean, that's a good thing. They should be able to see if the bone or kneecap was damaged. Flex it slowly as much as you can without weight or pressure, just to keep it from seizing up entirely.

Hope you have a speedy recovery and it was just hyperextended.
