fuck guides

i dont get why so many people want zelda guides. fuck guides.

its like christmas morning with x-ray goggles.

Zelda is an adventure game. Its a game to explore and experience. With a guide, all it becomes is a great big fucking chore where you follow some instructions and automatically win.

And dont even tell me the puzzles are too hard. I beat the whole thing without using a guide at all and the longest I got stuck was around 20 minutes (total time 37 hours). I got 15 hearts by the end and I never really took the time to do anything but dungeons. Now that I've beat it, I still have a world to fully explore and find the secrets of WITHOUT step by step instructions.

I somewhat agree. Zelda is def more fun when you play through the puzzles. Its dumb to do something like the guard puzzle and just look at the pattern from a guide.

But, there were a few points in the game where I knew what I was missing and just couldn't find it. I admit I looked online and cheated a few times rather than spending a half hour looking for the clawshot target I missed.

Also, I looked up stuff like what score i needed on the mini games to get the best stuff. I don't think that really hurts gameplay at all.

well, i agree to a point. I beat the game without any guides. However, I signed up for a year of nintendo magazines and they sent me the guide free of charge. I didnt get it till after I beat the game. I had 18 heart containers, the full 100 arrow quivver and all 3 bomb bags. I glanced over it and saw some shit i missed. I might go back and get it all later in life.

I use guides for the fact that I dont have time to play most games more than once....

Its helpful in huge games...games with multiple endings...junk like that...play through it once for 100%

i keep an online one handy in case i can't find an extra heart piece in a temple or i get stuck for a long time on a puzzle

p.s. vistrix, your mii is probably the "best" hitter in my baseball team

why buy the game if your just gonna read the guide, why not just buy the fucking guide and read it????
My friend always buys the game and guide. His chars are usually better then mine take FF7 for ex; but he always brags like he actually earned somthing but all he did was read the fucking guide.

i completely agree, although i used a guide to find all the bugs and had a list of the heart peices, but thinking back on it, i definately wouldnt do it if i start again.

I think it takes more away from the experience by running around in circles for hours trying to figure out what to do than reading an FAQ or guide to point in the right direction.

If I get stuck in a dungeon it pisses me off and I don't play for a few days till I find some time to truck through it.
