FTWR Closing Down!

Harddrive failure resulting in shutdown, really? Didn't the rabbit have daily backup or something (which i presume is in a different disk)?

not that it matters to me though, I deleted my account there a while ago.

A very sad day for all involved

Yes, the Phoenix is reborn from it's ashes in mythology. No, FTWR is not going to be "reborn". We lost all our database. The latest backup we have is from December 2008. The staff had three options:
1. Close the site.
2. Start from the 1-year old backup.
3. Start from scratch with the code.

The owners of the site decided to go with #1.

Rabbitstew you hide your ident like RABBIT do it too. Whats the difference. Dont get me wrong here, but you seem like you know your stuff and this is your first post, to make ppl believe in you, You should have spend more time at here. Yes what you are saying makes sense to me, I have been banned at RABBIT after 4 5 years whatever lets say from the opening, I can see their wrong moves along with their right ones too. If they dont respect me at the end, why should I respect them at all. I am older than them and older than any torrent system. Been there and seen that (done that). Anyways I am sure RABBIT finds its own way, yes I dont want to see RABBIT or any tracker to get closed. My experience says RABBIT can not be closed, unfortunately they are much wiser than the SCT crew. Goodluck to all these closed trackers. As a common sense, as an old time trackers user I have a message to all these closed trackers. If any of this is a joke. Just please dont play with the users. We dont take jokes. If you start a game one day you will find yourself in one of those games. Be positive at all times. I know this will not make a sense because non of this is a joke. Just ppl are tired and we want to leech dammit. Long live whatever left out there ;)

This is what happens when you wrap babies up too tight........

Bit torrent site for the most part are someones hobby and sites won't last forever. They move onto other endeavors or challenges, but other sites will pop up and mold them self's in the current environment could be the next site to generate the interest.
Sites will need to continue to evolve with times to be successful,
2003,2004 there was no such thing a ratio free no chance that would have happened back then didn't nee that kind of thing to get members.
These won't be the only sites we love that will eventually disappear

Well this sucks :(

It was great while it lasted. Probably the two sites I most actively used to download from. I can only wish the staff and all the members the best in future endeavors. Some I'm sure I'll still see around elsewhere.

Well if you get the phoenix reference you shouldn't be too worried in my opinion.

Your attitude lacks a lot to be desired.
You'd better start at least time to time posting something with plain logic or constructive, or your stay here might not be long.
I'm yet to see a post of yours that actually brings something interesting to any discussion. I really am.
I won't be having this conversation with you again.
