By classifying it as being "better than most with a sub 5k member base " isn't kinda like saying that someone is brilliantly fast for only having one leg?
 
In my opinion the reason is how difficult is to get an invite to this place . Most of the people who manage to get in don't even use ftn . I remember when sct was online most of the ftn members where using sct instead of ftn , because of the content and the big number of peers
 
Yeah, FTN is the perfect thing for trading against anything else. I used to have one invite back in the day and everybody tripped balls. I gave it away for free since I already had a bunch of trackers. Days are different now, and I ignored my accounts for about a year and lost them all :/

Or say that it has a great community which doesn't classify as fact but only opinion.
 
Just for curiosity's sake, what are the stats (seeds/leechers/snatches) for the latest true blood episode (s03e08), both the xvid and 720p scene releases?

FTN has minimum seed time. Stop a torrent you didn't seed to 1:1 after a few hours and it appear as s hit-n-run in snatch history. No seeding requirements is one more myth about FTN.
 
No ringhunter. I seed everything I download, so I download... anything... bar the odd game(Star wars force unleashed *grumbles*), and I still have enough upload to spare at the end (maybe 4 or 5 GB) that I don't have to worry about being banned for downloading, and still have enough room to download even without seeding back for a while, and then just seed what I've downloaded...

It's hard to argue that it isn't a special tracker, has loads of good content, great pre-times and is for sure somewhat elitist. You have a small active liberal laid back community comprised of experienced torrenters that feel blessed to be there or and/or entitled to say what they feel every post they make.

2 parts of that are true. Your right, it is a special tracker, and it is elitist It has the EXACT same content as every other 0day tracker. The pre-times are slower than TL or RevTT. The community is a good bt community. A good bt community seems to be one with lots of posters. In every other forum I frequent, not ONE of them has people iwth 1000 posts or 2000 posts, all from playing stupid counting games, and yet here that's how we judge a commmunity. Sure, the IRC is good fun, but there's plenty of better ones out there.These forums are better than FTN's...

Even with a good connection is hard to survive there.
Unless you start downloading stuff you never intended to, to build a ratio. Which makes no sense to me.
