Frost/Nixon

Just seen it - anyone else? I thought it was an amazing film. The cast were absolutely awesome. Frank Langella as Nixon is going to give Penn and Rourke a run for their money at the Oscars - he was astounding. Pity Michael Sheen did not get a nominiation. I think he is really underestimated in general. I honestly think that he is the leading british actor of his generation.

Anyway, great film go and see it whether politics are your thing or not its worth it for the acting masterclass!

Saw this tonight and thought it was fantastic.

Despite the fact I'm a politics student, I'm ashamed to say that I'm still very confused over Watergate - after watching Nixon, All the President's Men and reading a few articles, the issue still confuses me. But thankfully, no prior knowledge of the affair is needed.

Superb acting by all, but one things always niggles me about this biopics. For alot of people, this will be their only source on the history of these interviews. But by placing lines into it that weren't actually said, you're chaning perseptions of history.

Still a great film though,

4/5

It's a great film, the only thing that annoys me is that Frank Langella doesn't really "look" like Nixon but he pulls it off, you are watching that film and you are watching Richard Nixon. Michael Sheen did a superb job too. Glad it's been given quite a few Oscars noRAB.

I saw it last night and I haven't enjoyed a film this much in ages. Frank Langella is wonderful as Nixon; his expressive face conveys such real emotion that it's difficult to remember an actor who can actually do this to this degree. Michael Sheen is fantastic as well, bearing in mind that he also portrayed Kenneth Williams, the talent of this man is of the highest calibre.
The direction and screenplay are also brilliant. If you haven't seen it, please do!!!

frank langella is brilliant

only reservation i have is michael sheen. kenneth williams, david frost, tony blair (twice), now brian clough...he is turning into mike yarwood :-0

I saw this yesterday and had my reservations. I'm not really a fan of films that deal with specific events way in the past eg. historical epics or about people, so i went in thinking i wouldn't like this movie much. Boy i was wrong!

What a fantastic film! The time flew by and as soon as the movie starts it grips you from start to finish! Who'd have thought a film about someone being interviewed would be so engrossing and interesting!

Frank Langella was superb, loved him! At the end you felt a tiny bit sorry for him but not really because he got what was coming to him. He really deserves his Oscar nomination and come Oscar day i think it will be between him and Mickey Rourke. If Penn wins, someone neeRAB to be shot! :D

Martin Sheen was just as good but sometimes i felt like i was listening to Mike Myers being Austin Powers! Haha!

Rebecca Hall - what a babe!!! Need to see more of her on the big screen! ;)

Some superb acting but I don't feel that this movie deserves some of the accolades it is getting. I also felt that Milk wasn't as grrat as people say. My money is on the Oscar going to Slumdog or the totally deserving "The Reader".

Thought it was an amazing film that should have got a lot more media attention than it did. It's unfortunate that Slumdog Millionare completely eclisped it, but that's the British press for you.

The acting here was among the best, most powerful I have ever seen.
