to buy a 1991 Honda Civic fro? I want to buy a 1991 Honda civic from my Mechanic.. he will probably put a warranty on it.
 
Family Friends or loved ones. If none of them can help, hit up the mob. It is hard to get a loan for an older car unless you have something else to put up as collateral. I had a hard time getting a loan a few years back for a truck that was only 5 years old, but it had over 100,000 miles on it. I was trying to get a loan for $10,000 to buy a truck worth $22,000 and it was still hard to do, even with good credit.

If you want to make payments on an older car, you might have to buy one from a shady used car lot that does in house financing
 
You need to finance a 19 year old car? The most he can fetch is $1200 or so. Not going to happen via a standard automobile loan. You need to get a unsecured loan or just make payments to your mechanic.
