From where can I get free and downloadable books?

I dont want an audio book,please give me the URL of the website,I have got adobe PDF but I dont have microsoft reader or others.I want the books for free,and the books are bit old so i wasnt able to find in my locality,please helf me,its urgent.
 
try mediafire.com , its currently the best ebook downloading site.
if u r unlucky there, then i guess u'll have to google and search for a couple of hours.
