From T/X to Tre650

:confused: I just got a new Treo650 my question is how do i get all my info/programs from the TX to the treo?I think i can get all my Contacts, Memo's, and Calender info over .But am a little confused on how to move all my apps......P.S i have a 1gb sd in my TX if that helps.....
 
1. Install the Palm Desktop software that came with the 650 and when prompted use the same username as the TX. Of course you can't use the TX anymore on that computer until you change the username for that device.

2. IR - Beam everything over - cumbersome but effective. You can pick up Filez as freeware from all of the palm software sites and then go through and start beaming over Contacts, DateBook etc - beam the whole file not just a single name or event.
 
Frank's got an SD card. If he were to use a card backup program and then move the card from the T|X to the Treo would that work or could there be software clashes?

I understand that if a program SPECIFICALLY made for 320x480 wouldnt work on the Treo but everything else would move across fine wouldnt it?
 
This could work but could cause potential conflicts because you can not do a full restore except to the device that the SD card was originally created.

If you are going to use the same user name and discard the TX - then the CD install method is the best. If you want to try and duplicate the information on two hardware devices and maintain both - can't be done with the Palm Desktop - has to be done using Outlook as the PIM container.

Beaming is the "safest" method if attempting something other than above - you can't beam the "core" operating files and as such can't damage either device by corrupting the software.
