From Sidekick LX to Nexus 1?

Hi! So, I had a Sidekick LX but it kind of conked out so I'm using my dad's Nexus 1. I put my Sim card in and it works just fine, but I was wondering about the extras. This phone is 3G enabled but how do I make it work with my number? Is there a separate data plan for the N1? I was paying the monthly Sidekick plan but if I just call them and tell them I have a 3G enabled phone, will they make the switch to that data plan? Also, how do I sign in with my own Google account if my dad's is already on here?

You need to call your provider and ask them to change your data plan since its not the same as the sidekick. If you want to sign in to your own google account you can go to settings...then SYNC options i think then add an account. If you dont want to keep your dad's account you're going to have to reset the phone. If you do then activate your data plan first otherwise you will be stuck on the sign in process and can't go any further until you sign in.
