From N80 to N73.. Why Upgrade to N93?

1) From what I know UPNP is all about media normal file don't cut it....only video, music, pictures. There is also a search feature for UPNP on the N80/N93 so that is easy finding stuff. File browsing would have been nice, but it;s all about media.
2)I don't think UPNP does this. What it does do, from what I see is transfer the entire file to where it has to be shown and THAN play it. When it's ready it deletes it. This seams a better, because streaming could cause hickup or delays or audio sync problem. Better to have the file locally, before playing it. This is true especially video.
 
I doubt this. Besides you make it seem like the N80 is soooo slow. I had the N80 for a while and on wifi the pages rendered in about 3- 5secs
and the N93 is the same story. I didn't see a difference.
 
the slowness could be atrributed to other factors. Your are forgeting that things could create the small difference you had seen.
But there is also the chance that it is true, but I doubt the slight delay (due to fast processor) is significant.
1 sec to 2 sec dif is not much.

What the N93 does faster is startup...noticeably faster..only 14 sec to startup.
 
just remember, the size is probably another concern. i for one never thought id find a phone big frankly cause ive had a few big sized phones and still thought they were rather awesome to use..the n93 on the other hand, is a behemoth, like it isnt much bigger than some smartphones/pda phones but when you unfold it eithe rnormally or landscape theres alot of distributed weight all over if oyu know what i mean, like its not a smooth design. personally id stick with the n73..
 
Glad you decided to stay with the N73, because it doesn't make any sense to sell that to get a N93, when you've already said you're getting an N95 anyways. This way, you'll have time to save.
 
Yeah.. I owe it to all the HoFo posters here..

I guess getting the N93 got my HYPED up! Never even thought the difference between the 2.

So I did some research and this created this thread to gather some more opinions.

I finally came up with my conclusion in keeping the N73!

Also for the N95.. Got that in check already! Just waiting for the phone!

I saved enough to $800 I hope its enough!! I sold my 30GB IPOD and my Canon SD500..

I won't need these device when I get the N95..

I own the N93 and I can without any doubt say that it is the most advanced multimedia phone on the block at this time. Even the N95 is really not a replacement for it because it cannot morph into laptop mode and is lacking in the optical zoom department. Concerning wifi, here in Germany it is very useful because their is only one provider that offers an unlimited (UMTS G3)data plan and Voip is not allowed when using it. And for that matter, EDGE is only possible with one provider but once again, no unlimited data plan. Get the picture here how valuable wifi is. Even in the United Kingdom their generic unlimited data plan is very limited--no streaming or Voip. BTW, wifi on the N93 is very fast and efficient in the battery department.
