I had my surgrey on 7-28-08(l4-s1)i was doing so well w/the walking like everyone tell you i got to go home early. And i keep all this up untill today..im super sore and my legs feel like there going to give out from under me and im also running a fever of 100.02..my fiance said the cut on my back looks ok but for some reson my mouth is killing me, very exstremly sensative..weather its cool or hot..someone out there has to know what is going on with me

I'm sorry about what your going through. I would definitely call your surgeon first thing, especially given the fever and increased pain. You want to make sure there's no infection going on. If you get much worse (fever goes higher or pain increases), I would call his service, he may want to see you in emergency.

Keep us posted on you're doing. You're in my thoughts.

Jodi I am sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad. Yes you do need to call your doctor and let him know what is going on. You might want to back off a little on your walking because you may be overdoing and pain gets worse when we have fevers. I don't know about the problem with your mouth but it could be maybe a reaction to some of your medicine. What medicine are you on at this time? Call your doctor and let us know what he says. Just take it easier for awhile. Sorry I couldn't be more help to you but wanted you to know that I am thinking of you and also praying that you get to feeling better soon.

Jodi, definitely call your doctor. Are you taking any antibiotics? If so that can result in the kind of pain you're experiencing in your mouth.

Feel better...

Like the others said, you need to call your doctor. A low grade fever is an indication of infection. It could be other things, too, but you don't want to ignore it. The mouth pain may be thrush, which can result from high doses of antibiotics. You need a special wash that you swish everyday to get rid of it. I had that, too, and it was very painful.

Have you been walking a lot? Maybe you need to cut back a little for a while. Are your legs giving out from soreness or from tiredness? If it's from tiredness, you may have picked up a virus (hence the fever), and you need to just go to bed for a day or two.

Let us know what the doctor says.

You take care of yourself, sweetie! I hope you're fine, but do please call your doctor.

Emily

Jodi I am glad you did call the doctor and I hope you get to feeling better soon. Medicine can do some strange things so it is always good to check out. Take care and let us know what your doctor has to say on Thursday.

Be very careful. I after being home for 2 days after my fusion starting feeling bad, drainage from my incision and fever. Lo and behold I had contracted a staph infection at the hospital so be very careful. I was admitted again and had an additional sugery to open me back up to clean out the infection and 15 more days in the hospital. No matter what the docs say be persistant in your health care. Just my 2 cents

Jodi, don't wait and be uncomfortable. Give you doctor a call and tell them what's happening with your mouth. You won't be the first to get Thrush from antibiotics (it's happened to me, and it hurts.) There's a pill they can give you for it, a single dose and it will clear it out. In the meantime eating yogurt will also help move it along.
