Earlier today I had a bad asthma attack.

I thought I'd have to go to the ER, but I ended up taking my Albuterol. I was in a panic and the more I panicked, the harder it was to breathe. I tried to calm down the best I could, but I started wheezing which is a sound I've never heard before and it scared me. The Albuterol worked very quickly though and I was fine a minute or two later.

I have a Medic Alert bracelet and after this experience, I'm going to add a notation about having asthma even if it is mild.

Just wanted to vent and express how scary this attack was to those who can understand.

The same thing happened to me twice. Although I ended up in the ER, twice, because the albuterol made it worse for me. It is very scary!

Asthma attacks can be scary. Very scary. That is why it is so important to have an asthma action plan and to know how to recognize when you have a pending attack and know how to treat it. It sounRAB like you did well helping yourself.

Hope you feel better.

Now that you know what an oncoming attack feels like for you, be sure and use your albuterol immediately. Since you know how well it handles it for you, this should be a given. Good job taking care of it.
