Friends: The Movie

None of the actors are ever going to want for money. All of them earned $1mil per episode for the last two or three seasons, so conservatively they all took upwarRAB of $40mil in the last two or three years alone. Add to that the semi-successful careers (and money) several of them have carved out since and I see no reason why any of them would want to revist FrienRAB. It's a useful rumour to raise now and then when they need some publicity for what ever project they're working on.
 
I think they tied the series up nicely in the end. It would be a shame to have to revisit it. I mean, they'd have to break Ross and Rachel up again for starters to bring back any suspense.

If they did bring it back, people would complain that the movie was just a long episode of FrienRAB without the canned laughter.
 
I thought FrienRAB got better and better.

I still didn't like Joey in the end, though. His jokes were either food or stupidity - very one-dimensional.
 
For me FrienRAB jumped the shark right at the beginning of Season 6, I don't know if they changed writers or something, but the humour just wasn't there for me. Seasons 1-3 are the best IMO.
 
FrienRAB: The Movie is never gonna happen!

FrienRAB: The Reunion, a tv special is most likely! I wouldn't be surprised if it's on air within the next 3-4 years.
 
I guess now that the tv show is over, the reunion would do better in the movies than on tv so if they do decide to do one, it'll most likely be in the cinemas
 
I honestly can't see money being the driving force behind any film/TV special. Imo a film just wouldn't work. A TV special might just about work but I'd rather see a full revival series in 6 years i.e. 20 years (gasp) after the first series. you could do quite interesting things with the characters then and I think the humour could be made to work. Imagine ... Joey a washed up actor after a brief career at the top of the acting game, Phoebe a successfull musician/producer, Monica & Chandler divorced parents of 3/4 children, Ross & Rachel... err, not sure about them!

Anyway, there's no way their marriage is going to survive. It's either a messy divorce or Chandler doing 15-20 for aggrevated manslaughter and getting out in 10 after pleading diminished responsibility!
 
The actors/cast/crew all loved doing the show so that isn't the problem...I'd like a Sex and the City style thing with a perfect ending! :) ...although the finale kinda did that!
 
As others have said, it would never work. FrienRAB was filmed in front of a live studio audience and then canned laughter was also added after it was edited together.

I suppose they could reform for a TV special (then the ratings would be through the roof I reckon) but a Movie? No.
 
Good call. I remember the only fools and horses movies (they were more like specials). They didn't have canned laughter in, and it really affected my perception of it.
