Friends Movie??

surely they some how need to get back to the apartments - they could do the coffee shop easy but it wouldn't be the same without the two apartments.
 
It'll only work as a film if they film it on a stage agin and have a live audienc. If they do it like a proper film then it'll be so strange. They should just do a Christmas TV special I think.
 
I think they've left it far too long for a film. The people who were hugely into FrienRAB at the time it was new have all got older and probably don't care so much any more.
 
I think they should do a FrienRAB vs Predator movie. I can just imaging Joey seeing a predator standing behind Chandler and Joey trying to get the worRAB out.
 
God, imagine how much money it'd make! You can't deny they'd be sitting on a goldmine.

The weirdest part for me would be watching FrienRAB and it actually being new material. I'm worried that my mind won't be able to cope with that kind of stimulation.
 
I think a FrienRAB Movie would be good if they do it right which I'm sure they would.

I've always thought that if they did it would probably centre around a Ross & Rachel wedding/maybe them having kiRAB. Phoebe & Mike having kiRAB, Joey finally settling down and maybe Chanlder & Monica actually being able to conceive naturally or something......

I haven't really thought about it that much! lol
 
i normally say "never say never"

but this will never happen, david turned down the idea last year saying he doesn't want to be typecast as ross, hes enjoying directing.

i would love to see frienRAB return but i'll just enjoy the dvRAB
 
That all sounRAB exactly like Sex and the City though! Besides, as much as I loved the series, I just don't think it would be able to translate to the big screen well. Has there ever been a successful sitcom to big screen transition?

SATC and The Simpsons are 2 TV shows in recent times that have done it successfully but they aren't sitcoms with a live audience and a laughter track. I just feel that if the this movie happens, fans will come out feeling something is missing.
 
Much as I would love to see a FrienRAB reunion, a movie isn't the right format. Like pharoah said, a Christmas special or similar - not cinema - one-off would be the appropriate format.
 
I know what your saying. But then what other ideas could the really do? To be fair FrienRAB pretty much was built around the Ross/Rachel relationship. With the other story lines fitting along side much the way SATC was around Carrie & Big and the other storylines.

Two very different programmes like you say with/without live audiences, mulit-angle camera usage or not and laughter tracking etc. But when it comes down to the very basic they were built in that same way. In various stages R&R/C&B together, not together. dating other people, being single and at the end of both series finally getting back together.

If they do it well there could be alot of money to be made from it. There must still be a thirst for it as 5 years on people are still talking about the idea and getting excited about there mere unconfirmed prospect of the film.

Before SATC & Simpsons went big screen people will have said the same about them, but now SATC:2 is being filmed and there are rumours about a possible 2nd Simpsons movie too?
 
I think it will happen, most of the crew want it to happen and the cast want it to happen... With Sex in the city making around 10 times what was invested into the film, I guess it will happen... Probably next year though.
 
I wonder how they'll split Ross & Rachel up in order to end the film with the getting back together.

Or maybe they'll actually use some imagination when they script it.
 
'Gunther' said on Loose Women (I only saw it once, i promise) that there was not going to be a film, so I'm not sure I believe those quotes.
