Friend's brother? Weird? Off-limits? Advice is appreciated.?

So my very good friend's brother and I have gotten increasingly closer in the past year. We haven't talked about dating or anything, but I can definitely see the possibility. He's younger than I am...by three years, and I would usually never even consider a younger guy, but I think the fact that we've become such good friends has had an impact. He's very mature to be three years younger. I think he could be interested in a relationship, but it's too early to tell. The question is, should I even bother pursuing this? Since he's my best friend's brother, is that a violation of the ever-present girl-code?
 
i see nothing wrong with dating your brothers friend. only problem
that may come up is if the two of you date and then break up
you may still run across him since he is your brothers friend, but i
see nothing wrong with you dating your brothers friend.
 
if your friend doesnt want a relationship then it should be fine. ask him and make sure its ok if it makes you feel any better
 
It's not off limits. I think you should ask your friend though first just to make sure it's kewl with your friend. If your friend really is your friend, then he/she should accept the fact that you both like each other be okay with it
 
Don't go there. Nothing to do with a code of any sort. At the very least, if things go sour, your friend will be caught in the middle. And if she's worth anything as a friend, don't put her in that situation.
