Watching for the first time in years I would not say it's a true movie classic but I don't understand why so many movie critics panned it,it was a very decent horror movie.
From what I can see,between Halloween and N.O.E.S it was one of the top 3 horror movies made and definately the best of the slasher craze,except the above mentioned.
The endless sequels have definately hurt the impact of the original but none can really hold a candle to it.
