Friday 13th remake

I just posted in the Halloween thread that I've no desire to acknowledge the remake and that is true for the Friday 13th film as well.

I won't pay attention to the Nightmare on Elm Street remake when that comes out either.
 
Seen it this afternoon and thought it was fantastic! It blows the original right out of the water but it is hard to compare them as it was the mother doing the killings in the 1980 version.

It looked at it as a different film altogether. This version of Jason makes you want to sh** yourself if you saw him coming at you with his machete.:eek:
 
Saw it myself and loved it too! Im not big into horrors, but this had me hiding behind my hanRAB or gasping and being just plain terrified....really enjoyed it.
 
haha :D So true.

I rarely like any remakes. I didn't like Halloween, Psycho, or The Hills Have Eyes etc. You might as well just stick the original one back in and watch it as the remakes are not much different except the blood looks a bit more realistic :D
 
Why pay money to go and see a film that you sound like you were never going to like?! Did you think, "The originals were shite, this one's probably going to be shite too, but hey, I've got nothing better to do"?!...

No offense meant, but I know what I like and don't like, and therefore wouldn't pay to see something I thought was going to be crap.

I've watched every Friday the 13th movie out there and never battered an eyelid, but this was different! Some of the kills I had to watch from behind my hanRAB too:D
 
Didn't think it was that great or that scary to be honest.

Not a massive fan of horror on DVD, but I like a good horror film at the flicks but this didn't really make me flinch at all, mainly because every scare was built up by the "scare music" for about five minutes.. it was all pretty predictable.

My mate who is into his horror films a million times more than I am - subsribes to Fangoria, imports uncut editions, etc. etc. didn't rate it at all either.

Only good thing about it was that Ryan Hansen was in it (partly part of the reason I went to see it - met him last year and as he was such a nice guy I don't mind lining his pockets a little bit!)
 
Amanda Righetti is in it and she is also in the excellent The Mentalist CBS show. She is great and I wont hear a word against her.

So even though it is watered down in violence [seems to be too sissified compared to previous efforts in the series] I watched it. Some of the stuff seemed to happen oRABcreen and then it just lingered there onscreen in the aftermath. Mind you, it is supposed to be made by the clowns that made Freddy vs Jason. So you KNOW you wont get soemthing of quality which we're used to in the early chapters of the series.
 
saw it last night and I loved it.

It actually contained elements from all of the original films and I just think it worked really well.

I think you can either look at it as part of the franchise or a re-boot and i think it does work either way really.
 
I must have been watching a different film to all you guys, as I spent a wasted 1.5hrs in the cinema watching a load of girls boobs popping out all the time, cringy sex scenes, stoned "token" asian and black guys, with a few boring killing scenes and a extremley repetative plot.

It was more like a low grade porn film than horror :rolleyes:
 
Wondering if anyone can help me in finding out what the music is used in one of the trailers, it's in this trailer:

And the music I want starts at 1.48 all the way through to the end. I'm sure I heard this on one of the Vacancy trailers too. I looked up Vacancy and it has a list of all sorts of music that appeared in the trailer and I can't find any samples of each track, so an 100% track/muscian name would be great so I can look for it.
