Freshwater fish to keep in a 2.5 gallon?

Your only option for fish because of your tank size is a single male betta.

If you wish to keep guppies, tetras, etc. you need to upgrade to at the very least a ten gallon aquarium. The bumblebee goby is a brackish fish and if you wish to keep them I suggest you conduct a good amount of research on their care.

~Tetras should be kept in groups of at least six, guppies in threes. That combination can be kept in a ten gallon tank.

Hello,
I am getting into fish and have started out with a betta in a 2.5 gallon aquarium. Eventually, when I no longer have the betta, I want to get a couple different kinds of fish to put in there. I am thinking a couple fancy or cobra guppies, some neon tetras, and what are those real teenie little bumble bee fish? Are they gobies? They are very tiny and are yellow and black striped. Any other suggestions for a small aquarium? And what is the maximum number of fish I should keep in a 2.5 gallon?
Yeah, if I need to go bigger, thats no problem.
So what would you say are some good compatible fish that I can keep in a ten gallon?
