My friend (Lax) is just coming out of a depression---she is newly divorced because her husband cheated on her with another woman, and she has been really down these past 4 years. The other day we were talking about God, and another friend (Jo) of mine mentioned that God gives people free will. Freedom to choose what we want to do.
Lax said that she does not believe that people truly have freewill because most people never have the opportunities to really seek out what they want to do with their lives, and make their own decisions. Therefore, people don't have free will.
Jo argued and said that free will has nothing to do with living out your dreams but is based on choosing right from wrong only.
I wasn't sure what to say. I have read the Bible and still do.
But do you all think GOD gives people freewill, or are things sometimes predestined?
