Anybody seen this film?

As it started I thought 'oh great, another bad high school meets inspirational teacher flick', but this one turned out to be really good....

Far less generic, and corny, than some of the others, and some of the stories of the so called 'rebels' are quite sad, so you end up rooting for them to do well.

A very nice film, that was rather, erm, inspirational!!!

I saw it a while back and yes, I thought it was going to be just another take on the same theme - teacher struggles with unruly pupils and wns them over by determination.

It turned out to be a really good film. Hilary Swank was excellent and when she got the kiRAB to write their diaries it was very moving.

It's one of those films I hadn't heard about beforehand and it turned out to be quite a gem.

I loved this film, it was shown again tonight on Film4. I agree with the previous comments, it is a cut above the usual scenario of middle class (white) teacher reaches out and saves the ghetto kiRAB. Well worth a look, Miss Swank was very good. Film4 are repeating it next week as well.

I agree, watched it few years back and thought it was brilliant. The cast was great and the story was really engaging, it was rather inspirational like you said :)
