Freedom Shields Windshield First Impression

Being that you and I are the same height, I'm looking forward to reading your follow-up report after you test the 10" Freedom shield.

I'm 6'. Windshield is 9" high. Hard to tell how much lower the windshield is to my sight line but I can see well over the top of the windshield. Problem was the amount of buffeting air my sunglasses were getting causing shaky vision at higher speeds. If it wasn't for my sunglasses shaking I would like to stay with the 9". When I first start out riding each time I can see over the 10 1/2" clearview but I tend to slouch the longer I ride causing the problem with the 10 1/2" being in my line of sight. Hopefully the 10" freedom shield will be just right.

jg, I have the same bike and would like to replace the OEM windsheild but have been unable to decide on one with the many pro/con replies on each and every different sheild. I don't understand something about this sheild and hopefully you can answer with first hand exoerience. The freedom sheild site indicates that the Air Curve allows you to use shorter sheild but still not get buffeting but this one is only 1 1/2" shorter than CV?? Why??
 
I'm going to give the FreedomShield a try. Just ordered a 9" for my Glide. I liked the Clearview I had on my previous bike, but FreedomShield won't keep me guessing when my order will be shipped and they've had a bunch of positive reviews.

BTW...the "hdforum" coupon code works. 10% off and free shipping makes this purchase less expensive than a comparable Clearview shield.
 
i'm 6' 4" tall and i'm using the 10" long ride shield. i'm happy with it, but this might be an alternative for me. i'm going to keep an eye on this thread. i do like the idea of a thicker windshield. is it hard coated, if so, then i wouldn't want it. you cannot polish out any blemishes when you have contact with a small stone etc, if the shield is hard coated. that's one of the reasons i chose the long ride shield. because in the event of any mishap i can polish it out.
 
Im interested in a 9 in light smoke but Id like to read what other think too. Ive got a collection of shields already, Im sure like most here do !
