Freedom Shields Windshield First Impression

I’ve had a Clearview Recurve windshield on my 09 Ultra Classic for the last nine months and it does as advertised but when I put a lower seat on recently I needed a lower windshield.

I was going to order another Clearview Recurve when I read several comments from other members about the freedom shields from www.freedomshields.net. I decided to give them a try and ordered a 9” with a light grey tint.

I am really impressed with the quality of this windshield. It’s 3/16” thick as opposed to 1/8” on my other windshield and the edges are highly polished. It has what they call an “air curve” and is slightly wider at the top. The craftsmanship is great and I really think this windshield is going to work out great. Also received it in several days as opposed to 2 1/2 months for my other windshield.

I talked to John from Freedom Shields today as I think I might need the 10" windshield instead and he was a great person to deal with and was very willing to work with me so that I will be happy with my purchase.

John is the man! first rate quality, and he will most likely call you if he can to make sure everything is satisfactory. no junk like some other brands. try one and you will recommend one or two to your friends. I did.

Maybe the best quality made formed shield out there, polished edges, a stout 3/16" thick, optically very clean, very stable at 85 mph, works extremely well.... nice design !

IMO...Id definately recommend it over LRS & Clearview.

I'm 6'. Windshield is 9" high. Hard to tell how much lower the windshield is to my sight line but I can see well over the top of the windshield. Problem was the amount of buffeting air my sunglasses were getting causing shaky vision at higher speeds. If it wasn't for my sunglasses shaking I would like to stay with the 9". When I first start out riding each time I can see over the 10 1/2" clearview but I tend to slouch the longer I ride causing the problem with the 10 1/2" being in my line of sight. Hopefully the 10" freedom shield will be just right.

The 10" freedom shield will be here Wednesday and I will post the difference between the two in regards to the sunglasses shaking and my line of sight over the windshield.
