Free dvds in this week's/weekend's papers

I agree....this thread should remain as it is....DVD's , Music CD (or anything else given away with newspapers)....as mentioned DVD's & even CD's seem to be thin on the ground lately.

I find this thread very useful....whether it's Movies (DVD's) or Music (CD's)....CD-ROMS etc.

Interestingly enough the version of Halloween given away on Monday was the THX-mastered version of the film rather than the more recent Divimax print.

The Divimax version (released as the 25th Anniversary SE) was quite a controversial release and caused (still causes rather) a lot of debate among Halloween fans. The print used slightly different colour filters to the original cinema version and many people (myself included) prefer the THX print (which simply digitally restored & cleaned up the original negative). If you only own the 'newspaper' DVD of the film then, in my opinion, you have the best version.

Yes I'd second that; Spacey is a superb actor. Has anyone seen him in Richard II at the Old Vic yet? I'm nowhere near London and won't get to see it:(. I hear it's a Trevor Nunn production.

No coupon with mine but I do already have that set. As they all come from the same place I wonder if they are aware of that?

We watched around 45 minutes of this but were rather disappointed and we are usually fans of period and costume drama. Were we missing something? It was almost as if people were making a mockery of the whole thing.
 :o
