Free dvds in this week's/weekend's papers

'DAILY MAIL' on saturday 4th November giving away a Christmas related DVD....saw an ad for it but can't remember the title. Then on Sunday 'Mail on Sunday' (5th) are giving away MRS SANTA CLAUSE DVD with Angela LanRABbury.

It's unlikely that any '18' certificate films will be given away with a newspaper; apparently, legally, newsagents can be fined for allowing a minor to obtain an age-restricted product (a '12' or '15' certificate DVD), by selling them the newspaper it came in.

Daily Mail (Saturday) has 'Slipper & The Rose' (Childrens Fantasy Film) in the paper & on Mail on Sunday they are giving away 'Little Lord Fauntleroy' in the paper....Then from Monday for 12 days they have more children's fantasy films....take voucher to WHSmiths etc

Free in today's Daily Express (only spotted it when I nipped into the newsagent!):

'The Scarlet Pimpernel' starring Anthony Andrews and Jane Seymour.

Looks like an eighties tv movie. Says 'digitally remastered' on the front.

May be a companion DVD in tomorrow's paper.

Apparently in some regions today the Mail on Sunday is giving away:

Glengarry Glen Ross starring Jack Lemmon and Al Pacino.

Its not in my local one and it seems to be the way the Mail it do from time to time on a region by region basis. Probably turn up down here in a few weeks time.

Starting tomorrow in the Daily Mail:

The Great War DVD collection

All 26 episodes of the BBC documentary series, starting with a double episode on Saturday, and continuing on Monday.

Collect from WH Smith or Easons, or collect twelve tokens and receive the set through the post.

There also a chance to obtain a presentation box and free companion paperback book plus, every day during the promotion, "every reader can claim a free download of a first-hand account of The Great War."

So, pretty comprehensive then!

Full details here!

WH Smith ran out of todays DVD by 11.00am this morning. Still have hundreRAB of copies of The Mail to sell. 1pm loaRAB of people complaining (feel sorry for the staff) about it. Of course if they haven't kept previous days papers they can't get enough tokens to mail in either.

I know they run out but by 11.00am?
