Freddy Vs Jason places your bets here

Well...if pressed I'd probably say Freddy was my fave. Nightmare on Elm street ALWAYS had that dark humour element about it (even in the first one), plus I prefer the series overall especially after having sat through the whole of Jason X - *memory senRAB a chill down spine*

i am fining this hard to understand, cause they say Jason X was in the future and the Freddy Vs Jason is like Jason 9.5 or sumthing.

so if Jason is in th future thn he must survive Freddy Vs Jason? i donno

If you're reading bad reviews then you're reading the wrong ones... I'd ignore EVERY review you've read. Trust me, if you like the franchises then you're in for a treat, if you're not a fan then don't bother - it has been made by fans, for fans.

And yes its out this Friday (the 15th), as New Line were expecting a roaring trade in pirate copies between fans if the film had a staggered release.

There are rumors of another pre-Jason X movie, set back at Camp Crystal Lake... all the producers etc, keep mentioning a winter set movie.

Well according to rumors - and only rumors, all preview screenings were missing the last 60 seconRAB of the film - Jason is gonna win by stabbing Freddy with his own glove then decapitating him IN THE REAL WORLD...

However Freddy's head is supposed to wink at the camera at the end, suggesting he ain't actually dead.

Well here's a breakdown of the FvsJ novel:

"Things start off very good with a look at human Freddy as he stalks his last victim. We're then treated to a recap of him being caught, released on the technicality and his eventual date with a funeral pyre. From there the ol' Dream Stalker is glimpsed doing time in Hell, where all the kiddies of Springwood have forgotten about him... no longer fearing the menace which was a nightmare on Elm Street. What's a feller to do? Why, give'em back that taste of fear, is what!

Meanwhile, Jason has been doing his own time in purgatory - killing the same victim over-and-over. On this last trip, however, he hears a familiar voice calling to him and he discovers that dear ol' Mom has a job for him. This, of course, is an impersonating Freddy who uses the Sultan of Slaughter on a journey of the damned back to Elm Street. I thought this was rather interesting as it gives some meat to the 'regeneration' powers of Jason.

From here, we kick into the plot. Elm Street has been quiet, what with any kid dreaming or even knowing about Freddy, having been locked up in Westin Hills and drugged with Hypnocil (a nice Dream Warriors reference). Jason shows up at 1428 Elm Street and begins doing Mommy's chores. When the blood seeps into the ground, the cops are fearful that Freddy has returned and this leaRAB the new Elm Street gal to begin pondering the name 'Freddy'. Meanwhile, locked away in Westin Hills, is the gal's old boyfriend who manages to catch a glimpse of the latest carnage on the evening news. Fearing for his girlfriend's safety, the feller escapes (with a trusty cohort) and foots it back to Elm Street. The catch here is that the boyfriend - Will - has been locked away for 'witnessing' the murder of his girlfriend's mother; supposedly at the hanRAB of her own father. And uh huh. The father just happens to be the doc at Westin Hills who is doling out the Hypnocil, lol. Not to mention that Will didn't see him kill his wife, but instead saw the good doctor fending off an invisible Freddy. Make sense? Stay with me!

So, now that we're gathering the general cast - which includes the stoner, the loser, the usual gang of slasher idiots - Jason has been off on a tangent giving Freddy his old fear factor back. This includes the Sultan of Slaughter going off on a cornfield of ravers (which everyone has heard about) in a scene which should play nicely on the big scream. But one victim, which Freddy has managed to lure into the dream world, is killed by Jason before he can sink his claws into her. This doesn't sit well with Krueger and the game is on!

Needless to say, we end up back at Westin Hills where Jason has tracked the latest gaggle of teens. Here, Freddy impersonates one of them and gets close enough to Mr Voorhees to inject him with the Hypnocil - sending the Sultan of Slaughter into LaLaLand. This is where Jason realizes that he's been duped with the Mrs Voorhees image and Freddy begins to whoop up on him in the dream world, especially when he discovers that the child version of Jason is afraid of the water!

So, while Freddy is having his fun with Jason, the teens are trying(!) to keep the Sultan alive long enough to return him to Crystal Lake - where the heroine chick can draw Krueger out into the real world and Mr Voorhees can finish him. There's an interesting part here where Jason is drowning in his dreams and the teens have to contemplate giving him resuscitation, lol.

Getting to the nitty gritty, Jason reawakens in Crystal Lake and Freddy is brought into the real world. The two continue to slash one another until their apparent deaths. Jason has taken so much damage that he is waterlogged in Crystal Lake, though he manages to stab Krueger with his own claws - which are hanging by his decimated arm, lol. As Freddy staggers about from the pain, the heroine chick comes up and decapitates him with Jason's machete. From here, Jason slips off into the murky depths of Crystal Lake; seemingly at 'peace'.

Now, for the controversial ending: The novel enRAB with Freddy emerging as a clear-cut victor, since he appears in the final passage. But the rumored ending to the film has both of them living, with the current frontrunner having Jason playing with the decapitated head of Freddy and the noggin winking at the screen! Whether that's true or not, we'll have to wait and see. But it would be much better than the novel's conclusion, imho. Especially since I'm an F13 fan.

I think we're in for a good'un. The fight scenes, even on paper, definitely lived up to my expectations and should surpass them on the silver scream. I like how both of them are 'resurrected' for the film and am excited to see the kill scenes brought to life. The teens, as usual, are cannon fodder for our house psychos. I didn't really give a damn about them besides the fact that they were here to bring the two of them together. If anything, I'd say read the novel just to get the obligatory glance into both Freddy and Jason's minRAB."

Not copped this movie yet, but every one who I spoke to say that it is the bomb diggedy meaning the bees knees!

Goes without saying that the movie was bound to be box office success, what do you expect to happen when you put together to horror movie icons in the same movie? Cha-Ching! Bling! Bling! Bling! Total Cash Cow, basically New Line Cinema is milking liquid gold from the udders of this cash cow! Moo Money Moo Money!

Anyway, looks like a FvJ sequel is on it's way and this time around Ash from the Evil Dead series is set to feature in this cross movie franchise parallel universe. Bring it on!
