Freddie Mercury, how would you describe his complexion?

I know how he looks in photos, and in some photos he looks much darker than others. I would like someone who has met him in person or in concert to describe what he really looks like outside of photos and magazine covers. IE....skintone, hair, build etc....
I mean, was he more or less pale like in some photos or really, dark like indian dark?

Yeah, he had pretty skin... I think it's called an olive complexion. Racially white, but tans really easily and can get very dark if out in the sun a lot.
