Ok, so here's the deal... I returned my phone at Tmobile not too long ago because the head jack does not work and it had a dead pixel. I got my new 8700g and I was happy. Today I went to check mytmobile.com and my current balance is $206.00, I checked and it says $100 for the phone replacement or something like that. I called them clarify the whole situation and rep said that their charging me maybe because of the following reason such as water damage, dropped, etc.. but none of these stuff happened when I had that 8700. The rep told me to wait for letter from them stating the reason why they charged me... and so that I can file my appeal. This is complete BS.. any of you guys had this experience?

yeah its called you messed it up some how and rim determined it was user abuse and not manufatures warrenty.. learn to take better care of your device

Wow Flash. That sucks! And it kinda worrys me. Im getting ready to send my 8700g back for a defective trackwheel. Wonder if they are going to nail me also?

It's an issue with their reinsurer (I think) for defective phones outside of the 15 day "change your mind" period.
Fight this! I have been with T-Mo for almost four years - they tried to pull crap with me on a moto phone a few years back. I took it all the way to the vp of motorolla - I was finally told to go to a T-Mo store and pick any phone I wanted for free. They assume people will back down, but if you fight incessantly, they will give in. (especially since it's ultimately their responsibility - as far as I'm concerned, once they put their logo on the phone, they are endorsing it).

Yeah...although you may have been outside of the 15 day window (Verizon has the same policy) it's worth taking action on! If it was indeed faulty out of the box...it needs to be fixed or replaced...there has to be a 90 day or so parts and labor warranty for your device!

And I'm sure that a Blackberry owner doesn't have to be told to take better care of their device...that's standard operating procedure for anyone who is gonna spend the amount of dough for a BB to handle it with kid gloves!

Bottom lien here is: "The squeky wheel gets the oil!!!". Fight it!!!

I'm pulling for you flash, I believe you'll be able to prove the device was faulty and TMO will drop the replacement charge! Don't let it worry you, enjoy your new device!

I had a Pocketpc phone with 5mb internet service a few years ago. The unlimited internet plan was just released with a decent price so I decided to switch from the 5MB to the unlimited. I called the service number and had them cancel the 5MB plan and sign me up for the unlimited. one month goes by and I recieve my bill. They were charging me for the 5MB and the unlimited. I say to myself ok they are just billing me for my previous use. I wait another month and they are still billing me for both plans so I call them. To make a long story short after an hour and a half I finally convinced the service person and her manager that I did not want both plans. After all why would I want 5MB AND unlimited that makes no sense. When everthing was said and done they still would not remove the charge for the 5MB plan for that month and removed it for the following months. Hmmm, if that is good customer service, well, never mind. Needless to say when my contract was up I dumped T-mobile like a sack of potatoes.

So, I am not at all surprised that they charged you the extra money.

Hey, I just want to say thank you guys for all your response and support . Yea I take good care of my bb. And yes, i'm fighting it. .. Thanks again guys for your great replies.

this is why i buy my phones off of ebay. dirt cheep and chances of being charged for replacements, no extra insurance payment os replacements fees. you can honestly buy a replacement blackberry off of ebay for less than the replacement fee you have to pay when something happenes to your equipement
