Alright, I'm enlisted in the Navy, and my girlfriend is enlisting into the Airforce... now is it considered fraternization if we get married after a few years in? We both understand that we wont see each other, or even be stationed anywhere near each other... that's not the issue... I'm just concerned on if we can get married after we've both been in a few years...

no. it is only fraternization if you cannot establish a pre existing relationship prior to one gaining a commission or is more than 2 pay grades higher than the other.

It is not fraternization just, because you both are in different branches. What REALLY matters is whether A.) You are both enlisted members or both officer members. It can not be one enlisted member and one officer member dating UNLESS they got married prior to joining the service and B.) That your ranks are either the same, one above or one below. That is all that matters.

Technically, yes you can, however I doubt you guys will get married, especially if you're in different military branches.

Fraternization is when you have a relationship with your chain-of-command, or vice-versa.

So if you're sleeping with your company commander or drinking buddies with your platoon sergeant (which I saw crap loads of while in Korea), it's considered fraternization.

It's also irresponsible and and a majorly bad judgement call.
