FOX Talkback - The Simpsons - "Midnight Towboy" (Spoilers)

Personally, I was disappointed in how the third act was handled, with the Springfield being total jerks and not realizing their mistake of tricking Homer into towing out of his area.
 
Wow this episode was a great improvement from the last two episodes! The plot was fun and the humor was great. I liked how the B plot coincided with the first plot by having Maggie go out there and rescue Homer, and like aways Maggie was a cutie she's such a fun character to use from time to time. And "Shut the Hell up you damn ass whore" came out of nowhere and that was just hilarious.
 
I really liked this episode.

Part of it is because I'm a sucker for Maggie episodes and always like it when she has a big role in an ep. Homer's story was generally funny too.
 
More people who hate the new episodes need to start forcing themselves to watch just so they can provide a fair counterbalance. I thought this was mostly wretched. Ugh, we've come to Maggie beating up a sack of potatoes to win Marge's love back?

The lego opening, "Mr. T is The Lion King" and Bart appearing to be dead after skateboarding off the tow truck were my only laughs. That's the only "timing" gag in years that was executed perfectly.
 
Big ups to the writing crew for using Maggie and for tying the A and B plots together (even though Marge and Homer were both very down-to-earth about Maggie saving Homer's life by riding a dog all the way into another town!).

Funny gags all around, the Mr. T Is The Lion King was pretty funny too. Gotta enjoy the Homer and Bart skateboarding scene also. Really brings back some good times.

Maybe next time, though, Homer can... keep the job he has at the power plant.
 
I can't say it didn't make me laugh. But it seems like they don't care. It's like these Harvard writers only write from the Simpsons as a right of passage before they write some horrible, incomprehensible artistic film screen play or something.

I am a Huge Simpsons fan and have been since the Tracey Ulman shorts. That said, I haven't seen too many worth while episodes since season 12. I really dislike how they didn't bother to incorporate anything from the movie, except for the season premier opening. There was some potential in having them rebuild the town, but they squandered it for yet another, "Homer gets a job, and we make cheap gags about said job" plot. 2 weeks in a row. Well, 2 and a half. He tried to get a new job in the season opener.

Bring him back to the power plant, and keep him there.
