FOX keeps ordering more 'Cleveland' episodes

Ye I heard this from a guy at work, I'm immensly happy to see the Cleveland Show getting good enough looks from the Fox Execs, I think the Cleveland show can exist as more than a rip-off of Family Guy and I hope Cleveland show has a good future.

Hopefully their faith in McFarlane will be rewarded with this venture when it comes to the quality of the show.

That said, with last weeks' episode being good, here's to more potentially good episodes from this show.

i think the bigger thing is that they trust in the brand/universe of "SETH". they put his name on a show relate it to family guy and they strike gold.

i have been really bugged by the way they handle the ordering of cleveland episodes, but really i understand a little better after thinking a little differently.

#1 seasons now a days are rather short and giving shows like this with established names more time to develop is a good thing.

#2 the promise of more episodes to come is good to keep a audience invested in the show. letting people know this show will be back and you will have more hours to enjoy helps pull people in, so that is good.

it just seems a bit odd though that with money tight that they are spending so much on a rather unproven commodity. either they love what they see or they have alot of faith in seth.

This would be happier news if it were for a series that actually deserved this preferential treatment rather than a series that's only popular because it has a big name attached to it. Seriously, there are shows out there that are much more worthy of being renewed than The Cleveland Show, which has done nothing to deserve these props.

I'm not trying to stir things up, nor am I trying to tick off any fans of the show, but let's be perfectly honest here: the ONLY reason why FOX is giving The Cleveland Show the royal treatment is because it has Seth "Family Guy" MacFalrane's name attached to it. It's a spinoff for an FG character, and Seth himself does some voices on the show. What has The Cleveland Show done in it's short time on the air to prove that it deserves 3 more seasons other than imitate Family Guy's formula as closely as possible?

^ I really agree. IMO, There are many shows that deserve a renewal than this one.

I haven't seen the show stand out yet so far, so I'm not bought yet...

I personally don't like the show, but if it gets high/consistent ratings for the network and people are enjoying it, who am I to determine what it deserves?

However, if Fox is just ordering a bunch of episodes without enough people actually watching it every Sunday, then I think we do have a problem.

Speaking of which, how *is* the the Cleveland Show doing in the ratings?

To be honest I've been more excited for new episodes of The Cleveland Show than the new episodes for Family Guy and American Dad. Am I the only one? :crying:

So basically the Simpsons is less than Cleveland Show which is less than Family Guy while American Dad is less than any of them...?

Hmmm, sounds to me that for a lot of people Family Guy is the cornerstone of the night with people trickling in as it gets closer to the 9 o'clock hour and then everyone bails right after it ends.

Poor American Dad.

You know, this would be news for me if Seth didn't already have 3 shows on Animation Domination. In any case, I have a feeling Cleveland's ratings are going to decrease, kinda like what Scott Baker said. And definitely what Blackstar just said.
I'd rather see Sit Down Shut Up get renewed, but nooo, people couldn't give that show a chance, could they?

But hey. Whatever makes the fans happy.

American Dad has King of the Hill syndrome. Despite being the black sheep of the night and constantly attracting low ratings. It still seems to get renewed every year.

American Dad does make FOX a crapload of merchandise and ad revenue, which might be one of the reasons the series has lasted 100 plus episodes.
