I have a 5 channel amplifier with specs of "70 watts x 4 chan. + 210 watts x 1 chan. at 4 ohms" or "85 watts x 4 chan. + 420 watts x 1 chan. at 2 ohms". My question is, is it okay to use four speakers with 4 ohm impedance and one subwoofer dual coil 4 ohm bridged to get 2 ohm impedance to the amplifier? will a 4 ohm rated speakers and a 2 ohm rated sub affect the amplifier? or all speakers and sub have to be 4 ohm rated for the amplifier to be stable?
Setup is:
Hifonics ZXi 6.5C -> 100 watts RMS -> 4 ohms
Sony XS-GT6935A -> 60 watts RMS -> 4 ohms
Pioneer Premier TS-W1007D4 -> 350 watts -> bridged to 2 ohms
Kicker ZX700.5 Amplifier
70 watts x 4 chan. + 210 watts x 1 chan. at 4 ohms
85 watts x 4 chan. + 420 watts x 1 chan. at 2 ohms
What i'm going for is:
70 watts x 4 channel for the speakers (hifonics will be short 30 watts while sony is over by 10 watts) + 420 watts x 1 channel for the sub (pioneer 4 ohms but bridged to 2 ohms will be short 50 watts)
