Found my TT and it won't work

Hi folks, I'm new to the forum. I thought I had lost my tungsten T. I found it today and it wouldn't work. I read through some of the threads here and I did a Hard reset as most people here recommend. But when it reset it looks like its out of control. I try to rest the date and location but it doesn't register.
I try to press "references" but nothing happens. this is true for any commands I try to enter. does anybody recognise this. I have to say its great to have it back but not like this. Please help!

It sounds like your Tungsten T has a digitizer problem of some kind. You need to find out if your digitizer is defective or if there are problems with a dirty screen or screen protector.

If you haven't done so already, you should take the screen protector off the screen before cleaning the screen. It would also be useful to try calibrating the screen.

If none of the above steps help, you will probably have to contact palmOne support.
 
If you lost it for a while it's conceivable that the battery was _very_ discharged.. did it appear to charge up ok? If not, that could be a problem.

If yes, it could be that the screen has been squeezed while it was lost, which could cause a digitizer problem. In fact I inadvertantly created such a problem on my T3 recently, by applying too much force while applying the (insert hate-word here..) screen protector (using a credit card, as per instructions). Now the digitizer is useless.. I'll have to open up the device and (presumably) carefully lift- and replace the screen and digitizer.

same happened to me... after reviewing some forums, i decided (even if i was frightened to do so !) to open the TT, unscrew, move parts "here & there" and re-screw it.... (the TT was out of warranty + I had a new T3) it worked after this "surgery" and i install a small "digifix" application...

once in a while, i still get a frozen screen and... then i do it again..


i do not recomand this but......
