Apparently this has re-entered development, with the studio beginning reworking a script they had written a few year's back.

I know a lot of people will be against the idea, but I actually hope it's true, I really love the original movie. Even if they screw up and make a bad sequel it won't ruin the original, that'll still be a great movie, and there's the chance that they won't screw up, and that the sequel will stand up well against the original.

I love the first Forrest Gump Movie i have watched my dvd loaRAB, but think it could be mistake to make a second, but you never know could be cool. The Forrest Gump Book 2 was ment to be pretty good.

Forrest Gump is one of my fave films, i dont think a sequel would be a good idea though, its been too long.
