Former Suncom w/8310 4.2 OS. Ok to up to 4.5?

I was with suncom before they were bought by tmobile. T mobile does not have the 8310 but the 8320. The OS on the suncom page for the 8310 is 4.22. I would like 4.5 but it is for the 8320. Is it safe to upgrade anyway? I'm being left behind in the OS department which means no slacker, HC memory, video recording, etc. Thanks.
 
The 8320 OS will not work on the 8310. However you can use any other carriers OS for the 8310 and upgrade your device. I believe the newest official OS is from ATT and you can find it here if you are unsure how to upgrade check the how to in my blog. If you have any questions just post them and someone will be happy to help. The most important thing to remember is to remove the vendor.xml and all should go ok.
