FORMATTING A FLASH DRIVE?

im using both mac and pc. i had a problem with my FLASH DRIVE so i format it using my ibook. but whenever i tried using the flash drive on my PC it doenst support the format. i tried formatting it on my PC then it didnt work on mac. what format can i use so that my FLASH drive will both work on PC and MAc.?
