Ford V10 Triton. Check engine light on,Now rough idle & stalls at stops after driving.?

The check engine light came on after driving a while ,now engine idles irregular and stalls at stop light or low idle. Any clues would be appreciated before I take to the mechanic. This is on a Motor Home chassis, Kinda scary if you happen to be going downhill. Thanks a million !
