ford ranger trailer hitch ? help?

I am trying to purchase a class 3 trailer hitch for my 2000 ford ranger. This truck is a base model 4 cylinder, stick rubber matts it just says ranger on the side not xlt or anything. The rear tail gate has a sticket yhat says "sport" dont know if thats factory or what i bought it used. It is also a standard cab.Will REESE HITCH NUMBER 35816 FIT??
I tried to look it up but it says the xlt i can get a deal purchasing this model but its really confusing figuring out what works?

is the fram different from a xlt, xl, and or sport?? spare tire be in the way?? thanks in advance for you help
 
you have a base model truck same frame as the xl. the regular cab short bed ranger is the lightest truck ford makes and is only rated to tow 1200 lbs. the v6 can tow more because of the engine and rear leaf springs. i installed a reese multiple fit hitch on my ranger and had to remove the two little supports from the bumper.
