Hello people.. I have an 02 base model ford ranger and I bought a cd player for it. I also bought the connecting harness but it turned out to be the wrong one so foolishly I cut the old connector out of the dash. I've reviewed a couple wiring diagrams online for matching up the fords unlabeled and very random wires that were connected to the clip. I'm very confused and don't know why I have 3 ground wires coming from the dash. I tried connecting the 3 grounds to the one coming from the stereo, and hooked up the ignition power and the constant according to the diagram and the truck started itself up as soon as the ignition key was inserted, plus the starter wouldnt dis-engage from the flywheel! Not to mention the radio wouldn't come on. Anyone have any understanding of fords peculiar wiring? Thanks so much for your time.
