...Ford Ranger!!!? I have the base model '92 Ranger with the 2.3 Liter, 4 cylinder engine, and the one wheel wonder rear end. Which sucks badly. I plan to do a full revamp of this truck, as in, I plan to put a V-8 in it, new rear end, new paint, truck rims, off road tires, lift kit, all the good stuff. However I don't know much about Rear ends so I need some knowledgeable people to inform me on the subject. Please keep in mind as you read my questions that I do not have a lot of money and this project will be spread out over a couple years. I Need the following info:

1. I've heard I could just drop a Trac-LOC rear end from an old Explorer, Bronco II, or Mustang in it as long as they have the same axle length, is this correct?

2. I've also heard about some kind of Conversion Kit that you can get to convert your current rear end to Trac-LOC, if this is true where do I find one?

3. If none of the above is possible what are all my other options?

4. Lift Kits. Don't know anything about them, so please give me info? and where can I find a good/cheap kit for my '92?

5. On the engine. I'm sure I want to put a V8 in it, but I'm not sure on which one. As I said above I don't have that much money so I need to know what will give me the best bang for my buck. Options I've heard of are the 302, 347 i think? out of the navigator, the 351 Windsor, and the 351 Cleveland. Are there any options other than these? How easy is it to find each of them? Price Estimates?

I know all this is a big job, so don't try to tell me I'm an idiot for putting a V8 in a Ranger, I already know it's possible but work intensive. And please be nice, I hate it when I ask a question on here and people are just plain mean and rude!

All help is much appreciated.
