Hi. I have a Ford Mondeo 2001 petrol. For the last few months It has been playing up when driving or starting.
At first it kept losing power whilst being driven but it would come back, then it would not accelerate, and now when we use it we have to keep restarting it whilst on the move on top of all the previous problems. We have had the pump/ filter changed, the coils but to no avail.
We recently took it to a diagnostic centre where they could find nothing wrong But the computer could not identify the engine code so could not check the engine.
Could this mean the prob is with the engine? (does it sound like an engine prob)
Or could it be the CPU??
Would not being able to identify the engine affect the CPU somehow?
Sorry but im a bit clueless with cars....
Any information would be helpful..
The diagnostic centre managed to check everything except the engine but the car has a completly new engine and they need to find the chassis number. does this prob sound like it is engine related though???
