Ford mondeo ABS problem?

Hi i own a ford mondeo tdci 130 lx on a 04 plate it has done only 84k and it is wicked however i have two niggling problems which are as follows.

1.According to my ford owners manual the ABS light should briefly come on then off when i start the engine in order to let me know that the ABS is working. However this only happens now and then and when it does it is always when the engine is been started first thing in the morning my question to you good people is is this normal or do i have cause for concern?

2.Also according to the ford owners manual when ever i start the engine wether it is hot or cold i should put my foot down fully on the clutch turn the key to II position with until the glow plug light goes out then start the engine my question is is this the right thing to do? I shall look forward to hearing your replies.

Kind Regards

Sean

1. It is not functioning correctly but I am not going to guess why. Normally if there is a fault the light will stay on when the engine has started or maybe just come on when the brake pedal is pressed. It may be a cause for concern but who knows - very unusual behaviour!

2. Your manual is correct about the starting procedure. Not doing it can cause glow plug failure earlier than expected.
