Ford KA MOT due I believe!! UK?

I have a KA and I believe it is due for an MOT, but i just want to check i have the dates right!!

It is a 56 Reg and I bought it in January 2008. I believe an MOT must be done once a car reaches 3 years old. Does this mean my car should have its MOT this month? I'm really hoping I havent missed the month it should have been done in!! Ive always had older cars so I knew they had to be MOT'd every year, but i dont really know when a newer car will need an MOT.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure it was registered in January 2007, but i cannot be 100% sure! I'm taking it to the garage this week anyway!! lucky for me, i live just round the corner from where i work so i havent been driving for the past month!!!
 
Bob is right you must have an MOT certificate by the time it's 3 years old.

However if your car is a 56 reg then it must have been made in September 2006? In which case you should have had your first MOT from last September!

Book it in asap!
 
Your cars MOT will have been due on the 3 year anniversay it was first registered. So although it is a 56 reg, it could have been registered between September 2006 and end of February 2007. Look at the documents and see when it was first registered. It will be due between Sept 2009 and Feb 2010. So it must be due or overdue by now. Get it booked in, they ususally sail through their first one.
