Put simply, Armageddon. Import car manufacturers would also feel the pinch as 1.5+ million people instantly are without work. Who's going to buy a Toyota, Honda, or any car for that matter if they have no money? The Big 3 need our support now more than ever. And I agree 100% with John. One wonders why 99% of the taxis, police cars, ambulances etc. are American. I have always, and will always buy American cars.

i find it so funny that people assume that all import cars are "better" then the ones built right here in OUR homeland. besides the fact of supporting your own ecomony, do you realize that the main reason that import cars were quote-unquote "better" when they first came out was the manufacturers were stricker on mantainace and service intervals then the big three ever were. was that a smart thing? yes, but that doesn't mean that they build a better car at all. do they weigh less and get better gas mileage because they stuff a 200cc motor in them? sure, but when you get into a wreck with one you'll be wishing you drove a full size american car pretty quick. or you can just be nieve and buy the same car that you smashed into little pieces. thats the beauty of this nation, choice. some choose to be patriotic and support the the best nation in the world, and some choose to deface it but yet reep the benfits of living here like the poster before me. no matter how much you tell me ford, gm or mopar are "trash", "unreliable" (i chuckled at that one since 80% of the hondas on the road push a head gasket every 50k), i will not drive one. and this is a 21 year old talking, not a 30 year GM tech. i will now humbley go back to listening.
